Water authorities Hoogheemraadschap van Schieland en de Krimpenerwaard & Hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland
The management of water systems and monitoring the safety of residents against flooding in The Netherlands is largely entrusted to water authorities. With committed and expert people, local and regional water authorities ensure safe dikes and sufficient clean water.
For both water authorities, the corporate website provides external information and news and is the gateway to digital services. The reach and use of the websites is large, so it is important that they work well and can be properly managed and maintained.
We deliver a future-proof website, including hosting and support, including the necessary links with other applications for Rijnland and Schieland and the Krimpenerwaard.
The tender concerns Implementation, Hosting & Support of a CMS Internet system for HHR and HHSK. For this we used Wagtail, with which we could easily implement links and the two different designs.
The deadline was clear, the new websites had to be live by June 1, 2021 at the latest. The start was March 5, 2021 so we had a short lead time. The deadline was met by Four Digits by prioritizing together with HHSK & HHR in order to secure the go-live. The design of HHR was not yet final and from HHSK it was available in the second week.
The two water authorities were linked separately. Both received their own course and had their own content needs. We combined all this into one project. Various overarching links such as vacancies, authentication and external APIs have been realized.
Hoogheemraadschap van Rijnland manages the water in the area roughly between Velsen and Gouda. About 900 employees work at Rijnland.
Hoogheemraadschap van Schieland en de Krimpenerwaard manages dykes, locks and pumping stations in the area between Rotterdam, Zoetermeer, Gouda and Schoonhoven.
