Humanitas

We have been proudly working on the Humanitas Registration System (HRS) and their intranet for years. As far as we are concerned, a textbook example of customization and seamless cooperation.

We have ultimate responsibility for the development, hosting and maintenance of the HRS. And together with Humanitas we are always looking for new API connections, wishes and / or features. Data security and privacy are essential in any choice.

HRS2.0

In 2019 we started with HRS2.0. A copy of HRS, but with new techniques and in a new visual style.

Humanitas has given us the confidence to provide them with a new tool for the primary process of all volunteers. With the knowledge of recent years, we can make processes even simpler and faster.

The new environment is set up in Django and in 2020 we will only run the intranet and knowledge base in Plone.

Security

Not only can the more than 31,000 volunteers log in to the system and view the data and customizing more than 72,750 participants. The entire business process is also linked to this. Submitting a declaration is done in no time, just like starting a new project and linking it directly to the administration. Also linking national and local courses with e-learning programs is no problem at all.

We use BI tools for monitoring, which provide insight into target groups and results by means of reports. In 2014 about 14,000 volunteers were registered in HRS, in 2016 more than 31,000!

Scalability

Annually, there are more than 2.7 million page views spread over 262,871 sessions. The volunteers jointly made more than 700,000 notes spread over 55,000 files.

Results

The biggest result is definitely the development that HRS has gone through. What started as a small tool to manage projects has grown into one full-fledged management application for coordinators, administrators and volunteers.

Divided over 35 iterations, we have linked external systems for accounting, expense reports, training, research and an API for the BI tool. We guarantee quality with automatic robot tests, which test in a real browser a fixed pattern of actions as a predetermined user with or without rights. This means we can still guarantee that everything works!

Used technique

HRS must be safe. The structure of data is complex and the roles are overarching. That is why an object database and the Plone platform were chosen. Humanitas employees are automatically linked through the Active Directory. The BI tools run through various APIs. Logging in to different systems is no longer necessary, HRS provides Single Sign On (SSO).

Collaboration

An iteration is the result of a very long backlog of wishes and ideas. Together with Humanitas we determine which items have priority. On the basis of budget and hours, we determine which features are required for further development. Humanitas is in the middle of the team.
