We have liftoff! Wagtail Space has started. There will be two days of "sprinting", where we work on (write code for) various aspects of the Wagtail CMS. On friday, there'll be a conference with presentations about Wagtail CMS.
Doors open
Slowly people start to arrive. We give them coffee. Our office will be their home for the next days.
Opening
At 10:00, Coen opens Wagtail Space.
After some housekeeping announcements, a short "icebreaker" round is played, where sprinters are asked to talk for three minutes with someone they don't yet know.
Sprint topics are discussed: the people who are leading a team, or who are "championing" a ticket, announce what they'll work on.
Sprint topics
The sprint topics are shared in a collaborative document.
Some topics are:
Getting started training
Helping new-to-Wagtail developers get up to speed
Various issues from the tracker, to name a few:
Fix building documentation
Multiple image uploading in modal
Adopt class based views
Content translation
Enhance the content translation experience.
Source language preview
To help with translations, content editors like to see the source string and translated string side-by-side. The goal is to create a preview panel to display the contents from some other language.
PO bulk import/export
Some sites let their content be translated by translation companies. The industry standard is to provide PO files, and get PO files back.
Documentation on how to deploy a Wagtail site

Lunch
After a brief standup, where everyone briefly states what they are working on, it's time for lunch.
Standup
End of day
After the last standup of the day, people leave in groups to have dinner in the city of Arnhem.
