Software Engineer

32–40 hours Arnhem

At Four Digits, you’ll develop software that makes a difference. You’ll work on a wide range of custom applications that support and improve key business processes every day for organizations such as Efteling, Humanitas, Aquon, and Industrial Auctions. Together with an experienced team, you’ll translate complex challenges into powerful, scalable, and future-proof solutions. We work with Python, Django, Wagtail, and AI, among other technologies. Experience with these is a plus, but certainly not a requirement. What matters is that you’re a skilled software engineer who enjoys mastering new technologies.

What will you be doing?

As a Software Engineer / Developer, you’ll work within multidisciplinary teams on digital platforms, portals, APIs, and mission-critical applications for various clients. You’ll collaborate with architects, other software engineers, and strategists, actively contributing ideas to find the best technical solution. In doing so, you’ll look beyond just the code and also consider architecture, performance, security, and usability.

You’ll translate client requirements into sustainable software, improve existing applications, and develop new features. You’ll do this step by step within sprints, from refining the requirements to a thoroughly tested release. We work extensively with Python, Django, and Wagtail. Experience with these tools is a plus, but not a requirement. We place greater importance on your having strong software engineering skills, the ability to quickly pick up new technologies, and an understanding of how to collaborate with a client to arrive at a sound solution.

You’ll join a team of more than twenty experienced engineers, each with their own area of expertise. Thanks to our diverse portfolio, one moment you might be working on new modules for our auction software, and the next on a portal for Aquon, for example. We also contribute to open source and have been active for years in communities like Django and Wagtail. We share knowledge, help each other grow, and work together to ensure that no two projects are alike.
